RideSource is a transportation management company. As such, we do not operate vehicles and do not make service level decisions based on revenue enhancement. We make decisions based on the medical necessity of each individual transportation recipient.

We contract with multiple transportation providers in every area we serve to ensure our non-emergency transportation network is highly competitive and provides the depth and capacity needed to support our client’s demands. All transportation companies undergo a rigorous credentialing process to ensure every provider meets required standards for driver qualifications, vehicle types and maintenance, insurance coverage and other related service delivery requirements.

We educate recipients about available transportation services and how to access them.

We provide professional, efficient call center services via highly trained agents in our centralized call center. Each of our agents act as transportation consultants for our clients and serve as “gatekeepers” by verifying member eligibility and “pro-actively” designing the most cost effective but medically appropriate transportation solutions.

As a fully outsourced, “turn-key” solution, RideSource assumes full responsibility for contracting, managing and compensating transportation providers. Our fully automated, web-based system distributes and manages transportation requests and reconciles all claims in a highly efficient and cost effective manner. What are the benefits of the RideSource model?

We encourage the use of a per member or capitated pricing structure whenever possible. This ensures our clients receive the cost containment and budget predictability they desire and allows them to “fix” their transportation costs consistent with the terms of their respective service agreements. Unlike a “fee-for-service” arrangement with a traditional transportation company, RideSource has no incentive to push expensive vehicle options and increase per-trip costs.

The RideSource model is focused on providing the most cost effective transportation solution that meets the medical necessity of the passenger. Our unique process incorporates the use of traditional non-emergency medical transportation services along with effective utilization of not-for-profit and public transit agencies and volunteer systems where applicable.

We fully enforce the member eligibility, service delivery and performance standards defined by our clients and provide robust data management and reporting. These services include evaluating and rating the performance of network transportation providers as well as the regular review of service performance scorecards. Our default scorecard template covers a number of key metrics relating to telephone and transportation services as well as claims processing and other back room processes. Scorecards can also be customized to accommodate the specific metrics of our individual clients.

These processes are designed to ensure full transparency and accountability. Most importantly, they help to ensure we consistently exceed the expectations of our clients and provide an objective baseline for continuous improvement and “pro-active” grievance resolution.
